1. What level of excess should I choose?
Understanding your rental agreement is the first step. Here's how excess works:
✔ Section 1 (Own Damage) excess refers to the amount you’ll need to pay the rental company for any damage or loss to the rented vehicle.
✔ Section 2 (Third Party) excess refers to what you’ll owe for accidental injury, loss, or damage caused to a third party.
📌 Important Tip:
You should match your selected CDW coverage levels to the exact excess amounts stated in your rental contract.
Example:
If your rental contract says:
- Section 1 (Own Damage) = $1,500
- Section 2 (Third Party) = $2,000
Then you should select CDW excess of: Section 1 = $1,500 / Section 2 = $2,000
