What is Car Accident Excess?
The excess (or deductible) is the amount of money that you need to pay in the event of an accident before the rental company or insurer covers the rest.

Here’s a step-by-step process of how car accident excess works:
When you rent a vehicle, your rental agreement may specify an accident excess (or deductible).
If you are involved in a car accident, the rental company assesses the cost of repairs and charges you the accident excess.
e.g. If the repairs cost $5,000 and your excess is $3,000, the rental company will charge you $3,000.
